Technical characteristics:

  • Dunlop latex, manufactured using the Dunlop manufacturing method. Dunlop latex, being of high quality, offers good elasticity, adequate body support and self-ventilation. In addition to being durable and antibacterial, it is equipped with 5 comfort zones.
  • The symmetrical design of the core allows the mattress to flip and turn while maintaining the same quality of comfort. In addition, this way we extend its useful life.
  • Exceptional elasticity that facilitates the change of posture while maintaining the same feeling of comfort for a deeper rest.
  • Latex has natural antibacterial and fungicidal properties, preventing the proliferation of mites in the core.
  • Design for perfect articulation on an articulated base.
  • Dunlop Foam, a state-of-the-art cellular material whose qualities offer firm comfort, adequate body support and an ideal microclimate.

WHY TALALAY LATEX?

Latex is a suspension of rubber particles in water. It is harvested from the Hevea Brasilensis tree by making angular incisions in the bark in the shape of a V, a process called ‘bleeding’. Behind the bark there are vessels through which the latex flows, and when a small cut is made, the latex flows out. A tree can produce latex for more than 15 years.

The talalay method is the most sophisticated system for manufacturing latex mattresses.

There are two systems for manufacturing latex mattresses:

Dunlop or Standard System, invented in 1929 by physicist E.A. Murphy, researcher at Dunlopillo. Its process consists of mixing the latex with air and then increasing its temperature between 100° and 115°, which vulcanizes it, obtaining the latex foam. A high percentage of natural latex (Dunlop latex) or, on the contrary, only synthetic latex (Standard latex) can be used in the mixture used for its manufacture.

Talalay system, developed by Joseph Anton Talalay in 1956. This process is an evolution of the first one starting from the same raw material, latex. It is a more elaborate process in which the latex is manipulated before vulcanization to improve the magnificent natural qualities of latex, thus achieving a higher quality latex for rest: more breathable, more porous, more adaptable, more elastic, softer, more durable, more natural, healthier.

What are the main qualities that make Talalay latex stand out from other foams?

More Perspiration: by having an open natural cell, larger in size thanks to the Talalay process, air circulates laterally more easily, making it possible to maintain a stable body temperature during rest.

More adaptability: the softness of Talalay latex is essential to avoid pressure points on our blood circulation and on our bones, so we will be able to change our posture less and therefore get a deeper sleep.

More elasticity: thanks to the internal structure of Talalay latex, the mattress reacts to our movements helping us to change our posture with minimum effort and instantly providing us with the same feeling of comfort we had before moving. This avoids micro-awakenings and provides a deeper sleep.

More Naturalness: Talalay latex mattresses have 80-90% natural latex, which improves performance and increases the durability of the core. The Talalay process requires this high percentage of natural latex because the maximum elasticity of this material is essential to achieve the unique internal structure of Talalay latex.

More Hygiene: thanks to the natural antibacterial and fungicidal properties of Talalay latex, dust mites do not find food and perish.

Longer Durability: Talalay latex, thanks to the design of its internal structure, maintains all its characteristics and physical properties for rest unaltered for a longer period of time.
